New in Theaters: “Terminator: Dark Fate” and “Harriet”

1.  Terminator:  Dark Fate  (R)  Trailer

Linda Hamilton returns as Sarah Connor to protect a young girl from a new liquid terminator with the help of a cybernetically-enhanced soldier from the future and Arnold Schwarzenegger’s T-800 “Carl”.  Mackenzie Davis from “Halt and Catch Fire” is their cyborg ally, Colombian actress Natalia Reyes is the girl in danger, and Gabriel Luna is the terminator hunting her.

 

 

 

2.  Harriet  (PG-13)  Trailer

Cynthia Ervo stars as Harriet Tubman in in the story of her escape from slavery and her determination to risk her life as a conductor of the Underground Railroad to free hundreds of other slaves.  Leslie Odom Jr. is fellow conductor William Still.

Janelle Monae is the woman who mentors Harriet and takes her in after she reaches freedom in Philadelphia.  Joe Alwyn is the villain of the movie.  He’s Harriet’s former owner back in Maryland.  And country singer Jennifer Nettles plays his mama.

 

 

 

3.  Arctic Dogs  (PG)  Trailer

Jeremy Renner is a dog working for an Arctic delivery service who stumbles across an evil plan by walrus villain John Cleese to melt the polar ice caps and flood the world.  So he turns to his polar bear buddy Alec Baldwin and their other animal friends . . . James Franco, Heidi Klum, and Angelica Houston . . . to help save their world.

 

 

 

4.  Motherless Brooklyn  (R)  Trailer

Edward Norton is a private detective in the 1950s with Tourette’s Syndrome, who’s trying to solve the murder of his mentor, Bruce Willis.  The rest of the cast includes Bobby Cannavale, Willem Dafoe, Alec Baldwin and Gugu Mbatha-Raw.
