Music’s biggest night started with a musical tribute to KOBE BRYANT.  ALICIA KEYS walked onto the “Grammy” stage at the Staples Center and said, quote, “We’re all feeling crazy sadness right now . . .

“Because earlier today, Los Angeles, America, and the whole wide world lost a hero.  And we’re literally standing here heartbroken in the house that Kobe Bryant built.”  Then she started singing “It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday” . . . and BOYZ II MEN came out and joined in.  (Here’s video.)

It was a big night for BILLIE EILISH.  She won five Grammys, including Album, Song, and Record of the Year, plus Best New Artist.  At 18, she’s the youngest person to be nominated for, and win, all four of those honors.

But her brother FINNEAS was the biggest winner of the night with SIX.  In addition to winning several awards with Billie for her album “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?” and the song “Bad Guy” . . .  He also won Producer of the Year and Best Engineered Album.  Their performance of “When the Party’s Over” was one of the highlights of the show.

LIZZO led all artists with eight nominations, and came out with three wins, including Best Pop Solo Performance for “Truth Hurts” and Best Traditional R&B Performance for “Jerome”.

She also kicked the night off with “Cuz I Love You” and “Truth Hurts”.

(WARNING:  This video contains questionable language.)

She also had one of the most inspiring speeches of the night, too.  (WARNING:  This clip contains profanity.)

Speaking of inspiring moments, TYLER, THE CREATOR brought his MOM onstage and thanked her when he won Best Rap Album.  But in a backstage interview he added that categorizing his music as rap almost felt like a backhanded compliment.

And DEMI LOVATO got a standing ovation for her comeback performance of “Anyone” . . . even though she had a little hiccup at the beginning.  And no, you weren’t seeing things:  NICK JONAS did have something in his teeth.

(Check out lists of memorable moments here and here.  And here’s a list of the “biggest snubs and surprises.”)
